Daphne Bigelow

The name Daphne Bigelow came from a 1976 PBS movie entitled, "Phantom of the Open Hearth." It was one of a series of movies written by comic genius Jean Shepherd. The most well-known in the series is "A Christmas Story" which runs every year on one television station or another.
"Phantom" featured the adventures of a family in the fictitious town of Hohman, Indiana. Daphne was this blonde bombshell in high school that all the teen-age boys lusted after but none could ever approach. We thought the name was a whimsical departure from Bootsie, Rover, Spot, Tumble and Puddles (no offense intended).
