Skokie Review Connects To eVoter.com To Keep Citizens Informed About Elections, Government
In an effort to keep citizens better informed, the Skokie Review and its sister newspapers have contracted with the online election center eVoter.com.
The online portal links Illinois voters to election information, candidate profiles and organization endorsements. Voters can use the system today to locate their polling places, generate and print customized ballots, look up endorsements and donate to campaigns.
eVoter.com boasts the nonpartisan site is the first online destination where voters, candidates and endorsing organizations make direct connections. Visitors can view all the races for which they can vote, including governor and U.S. Senator, county officials and even precinct committeeman in the suburban and Downstate counties where such party positions are on the ballot.
Through the partnership, Sun-Times Media will provide direct links from each of its newspaper Web sites. ““This is an exciting new service that is unique to voters in Illinois,” said Adam Kravitz, CEO of Political Technologies LLC, owners and operators of eVoter.
Illinois is the first state where eVoter is available. Political Technologies plans to provide the service in more than a half-dozen states by the 2010 general election and all 50 states by 2012.
