CTA Announces Service Cuts to Bus Routes Serving Skokie Effective Feb. 7th

 

Effective February 7th, CTA bus service to the Skokie area will be reduced.

 

The cuts affect routes No. 54A, No. 97 and No. 205 -- all of which service village employment centers' north of Golf Road.  

 

 

The Yellow Line is the only rail service the will not see any reduction in service.

 

 

Affected routes include:

 

No. 54A North Cicero/Skokie Blvd./Service Frequency Change

•   During the morning rush period, service will operate approximately every 15-        17 minutes.

•  During the midday, service will operate approximately every 19-24 minutes.  [NOTE: The 54A does not run during most of the midday period.  This space occurs for those runs between 9:00AM and 3:00PM.]

• During the afternoon rush period, service will operate approximately every 20- 28 minutes.

 

No. 97 Skokie/ Reduced Hours & Frequency Change

•  Service will end earlier, with the last eastbound trip leaving the Skokie Yellow Line station at 10:35pm and westbound trip leaving the Howard Red/Yellow/Purple lines station at 10:30pm.  [NOTE: Runs that go to and from Old Orchard will also be cut back 10 minutes, so the last bus from Old Orchard toward Howard on Saturday will be 8:20PM and on Sunday will be 8:40PM.  The last bus from Howard to Old Orchard on Saturday will be 7:30PM and on Sunday will be 7:55PM. ]

• During the weekday morning rush period, service will operate approximately every 15-20 minutes. 

•  During the midday, service will operate approximately every 20 minutes.

• During the afternoon rush period, service will operate approximately every 15-18 minutes.

• Evening service will operate approximately every 18-30 minutes.

• Saturday service will operate every 20-30 minutes.

 

 

No. 205 Chicago/Golf/  Decreased Frequency

•   During the weekday morning rush period, service will operate approximately every 20 minutes.

•  During middays, service will operate approximately every 20-30 minutes.

• During the afternoon rush period, service will operate approximately every 18-25 minutes.

• During evenings, service will operate approximately every 20 minutes.
