Asian and Hispanic Immigration Declining

The United States Census Bureau reports that the rate of both Asian and Hispanic immigrants has been steadily decreasing due to the slowing economy and immigration laws.

Census data released Thursday also showed that fewer Hispanics were migrating to suburbs and newly emerging immiagrant areas in the Southeast in addition to staying in traditional gateway communities.

In contrast, cities in California, Illinois, and New Jersey showed gains in immigrant population.
