Matchmaker Needed: Allergic cat owner seeks non-allergic cat wanter

Layla Portrait
Layla, an indoor, grey-and-white, domestic short-hair felinus fabulousus, is 15 years old (her Quinceañera was stupendous). She has lived with me for 12 years, and is in very good health, according to her long-time vet in Rogers Park. Though she spent her kitten years living with an Airedale terrier, and seven years living with another cat several years her junior, I sense that in her golden years, Layla is happiest and most affectionate in a home where she can be the only furry object of affection (i.e., she prefers to be the only pet in the house).

Layla eats a simple diet of dry food, and has a curious appetite for peanut butter and other beans as a treat. She is very well accustomed to litter box use, and grooms herself well. She has all her claws, but she does not scratch unless terribly provoked (i.e., she has not scratched me in several years).

The package: Layla comes with some toys, a scratching post, a litter box and scoop, food and water bowls, all of her veterinary and vaccination records, and a really fancy, polka-dot, fabric-sided, "haute cature" designer cat carrier.

I am so hopeful to find Layla the “right” place to live the rest of her years that I will make a charitable contribution of $100 (to an animal shelter or other charitable organization) in honor of the “matchmaker” who helps me to find Layla the right match for a lasting human-feline relationship.

I am scheduled to move to my new apartment in mid-June. For more information about Layla, please leave a message at 847.491.1340 or e-mail joeylenti@gmail.com.
