Not Just an "Ordinary" Writer

Niles North graduate June Sproat of Skokie has had her first novel published. "Ordinary Me" is about a high school sophomore who foils an escaped convict's gateway while in her driver's ed class. She wants it to be a story to make you feel good about yourself and it targeted to the "young adult" market of 12 year olds and older. Getting the book completed was no small feat for June as she is the mother of three daughters and also works at Oakton Community College. She had to work on the book after her children had gone to sleep and whatever time on the weekend she could get. The idea for a "feel good" book is something she has thought about since the seventh grade and has finally completed with the support she received from the Chicago North chapter of the Romance Writers of America.
