Calling all New Immigrants to Free Workshops

Village of Skokie Immigration Information Workshop Series
The Village of Skokie will offer a monthly Immigrant Information Series focusing on issues that are important to immigrant residents. All workshops will be held at the Skokie Public Library, 5215 Oakton Street from 7 to 8:30pm on the first Monday of each month through January 2009.
The workshops are free of charge and will be conducted in the English language. People who do not speak English are encouraged to attend and bring an interpreter/translator. Children’s activities will be available for children ages five and up. Light refreshments will be served.

July 7, 2008: Adult Education and Language Skills
August 4, 2008: Finding Employment and Enhancing Job Skills
September 8, 2008: Special Education and Services for Children with Disabilities
October 6, 2008: Insuring your Home, Your Property, and Yourself
November 3, 2008: Emergency Services: Protection, Prevention, and Preparedness
December 1, 2008: Getting Around: Buses, Trains, and Automobiles
January 5, 2009: Health and Wellness
