Power Outages Hit Skokie

Several power outages have hit Skokie recently, mostly likely due to harsh weather; heavy winds on Friday, Feb. 29 and heavy snowfall on Feb. 26. As many as 1,300 customers were affected. Assistant Village Manager John Lockerby maintains that the outages were not out of the ordinary and that ComEd reacted in a normal amount of time. Residents should call 911 if they see a dangerous situation such as a down power line. Otherwise, power outages should be reported to ComEd at 800.334.7661.
