Skokie's Budget Nationally Recognized

Congratulations to the Village of Skokie! For the 15th consecutive year, the Village of Skokie has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The award is the highest form of recognition in government budgeting and represents a significant achievement by the Village of Skokie. The GFOA award recognizes Skokie's budget for satisfying nationally accepted guidelines for effective budget presentation and the significant achievement and commitment by the Village Board and staff in meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting for fiscal year 2008 (May 1, 2007 - April 30, 2008). In order to receive the award a budget must be rated as proficient in how well the budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
